  1. Exhale completely while tucking your tailbone under so that your ribs lock downward as far as they’ll go.
  2. Inhale partially while maintaining tightly braced abs in order to keep your ribs down.
  3. Keep your tailbone tucked under and the front of your pelvis pulled towards your chest as you lift off the bench.
  4. Do not let your lower back arch at all.
